“I learnt the bulk of my engineering skills from Malcolm Toft at Trident studios”

“My intention in these tutorial videos is to provide a ‘one stop’ knowledge base for anyone interested in all the different aspects of recording.

The subjects covered range from what is required for a simple setup to get started, right through to the differences between digital and analogue metering for example. There are even tutorials on how to manage a recording session and the qualities required to be a recording engineer. Subjects not normally found and invaluable to students or people who want to enter the industry.

While there are some 25 tutorials totalling around 4 hours, they have been kept concise and the maximum length of any video is no longer than 20 minutes.

Although there is useful information that explains the technicalities behind some of the subjects, I have deliberately tried to make them easy to understand.  A basic knowledge and understanding of the technical aspects such as avoiding hum loops will greatly improve your confidence when faced with such problems.

I have thoroughly enjoyed making the videos and have deliberately kept the subscription price as low as possible so that as many people as possible can enjoy them. I hope you do.”
